Remembrance Sunday

My short story "Remembrance Sunday" was published by Fiction 365 on 16th February, and can be accessed - for free, oh yes - by the link above. It tells the story of Tom who, clearing the house of his recently deceased, World War Two-obsessed brother, finds a strange request amongst his effects...

A writerly update: I'm now over 60,000 words into the first draft of my new novel, which I think and sincerely hope is about two thirds of the way through. On Sunday I'll be making my second visit to the Urban Writers Retreat in London to crank up the word count (my previous visit was last January). I feel like I currently have good book in the blurriest of focus, and want to finish this draft to crack on with seeing if I'm right. My previous novel is still out and about, and the whirring of form rejection letters (sad violins) has been accompanied by some more positive feedback as well, so I've got some encouragement to plow on. And lalalala to the rest, as William Faulkner once wrote.

I'm a bit late posting the Remembrance Sunday link because of a trip to York that kept me away from my computer this weekend - the pic in this post is from that trip, inside the Minster. Nothing to do with the story, I just like the picture.

Until next time, Gadget...
