Showtime


After spending since December on a shortlist, "After the Show", the first story of mine to get a positive response from a publisher, has been included in the final lineup for Paroxysm Press's 100 Lightnings anthology. Publication date is as yet unknown. The show in question is a night at the circus, and the story describes the arrival of a visitor who has a new act to exhibit to the proprietor...

Incidentally, chaps, I can recommend googling 'circus ringmaster' and variants for images, if you've a quiet moment. Love to all...

Why There is No Socialism in America


My story "Why There is No Socialism in America" has been accepted this morning by the very prompt editor of .insidious. magazine. They intend to publish my story by the end of the year. The acceptance email also says 'congratulations - you have been accepted for who you are', which suggests they might be welcoming me into a cult, which could be cool. More information as and when...
